Another cause needs your attention! Taking sides could solve a global problem only if we have a fair and fact-checking media.

Should we take sides? Is it just a trend to increase status? Do we have access to the facts and know the truth? Is it an impulsive reaction or a necessary call to action? Are we missing other causes out there that needs our attention?

How many times have we seen an incident and start spreading the rumours without even checking the facts? Do you ever get frustrated when the media (top global news) is choosing a specific group to increase web traffic and ignores other vulnerable causes because the topic is not "hot"?

We hardly know the facts at the time of an incident and the media doesn't really care about vulnerable causes. It favours traffic and income (I know I'm being pessimistic but it's true).

Now, I have a question for you.

How much do you know about victims of honour killing? Have you heard about Romina Ashrafi? Did media support this cause and made it a global issue?

No! Because it's not a hot topic. Such a shame.

Recently another black person, Rayshard Brooks was shot dead by the police, and it sparked outrage. How much time did we invest to find the facts? Did we go through a few videos to realise the cops were risking their lives too?

I’m not the one who can judge whether it was police brutality or self-defence but I mean, why don’t we see a large cop-lives-matter movement?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not opposed to taking sides when we face cruelty against a specific group/race/class because being neutral makes the oppressor stronger to target more victims.

But I wish we had a fair and fact-checking broadcast instead of a business-minded media which focuses on increasing the views and makes money out of ads.

Romina Ashrafi, 13, a victim of honour killing

When it comes to Romina’s life (a 14-year-old Persian girl who was a victim of honour killing), we have all the facts to condemn these kinds of heart-breaking acts of violence.

But, unfortunately, we miss the worldwide attention. Women like Romina needs our support more than ever.

Solution: Education, Education, Education

When Investigating the cause of honour killing, we realise that it's deeply rooted in lack of education and zero critical thinking.

Women who live in non-secular societies like Romina Ashrafi easily become victims of extreme social norms.

Lack of education is detrimental to society, and science and education might be the only tools to save their future generations.

Shouldn’t we put an end to abusive taboos and start teaching our children (future generation) about topics like women’s history, women’s sexual health, women's body, women’s orgasm, women’s leadership, women’s history, women’s power in making lasting relationships?

Thankfully, technology made It very easy to find articles and research on women’s body and brain and its evolution throughout history. I know men suffer too in non-secular societies, but first things first. Girls like Romina need our support more than ever.
